You are Chosen in Christ

WHAT DOES CHOSEN IN CHRIST MEAN?

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Ephesians 1:1-6

When you believed the Gospel [1 Corinthians 15:3-4], you were baptised into Christ [Galatians 3:26-27].

Christ paid for your sin, and you received His righteousness [Romans 8:3-4, 2 Corinthians 5:21].

You have peace with God, after receiving the righteousness of God through faith in Christ [Romans 5:1].

Paul also says that you have peace with God [Ephesians 1:2] because you were chosen by God to be in Christ [Ephesians 1:4].

Therefore, God gave you the faith to believe the Gospel [Ephesians 2:8-9].

When you were baptised into Christ your spirit died with Christ, was raised with Christ [Colossians 2:12] and was therefore born again of God.

Therefore your spirit is holy [Ephesians 1:4].

When you died with Christ, you died to your sinful flesh, and so you have effectively put off your sinful flesh [Colossians 2:11]. Consequently, you can no longer sin before God [Romans 6:6, 7:17, 7:20].

Therefore, you are blameless before God [Ephesians 1:4, Romans 8:1].

This is why Paul says that you are holy and blameless before God [Ephesians 1:4-5].
