Christian Purpose (Part 1): To Glorify God

WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN’S PURPOSE?

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Ephesians 1:3-6

The purpose of the church is to glorify God [Ephesians 1:6, 1:12, 1:14].

Therefore, a Christian’s purpose is to glorify God.

When you believed the Gospel of Christ [1 Corinthians 15:3-4], you received the righteousness of God [Romans 3:22, 1 Corinthians 1:30].

The primary way to glorify God is to stand upon the righteousness of God, for your actual righteousness before God [Romans 5:2, 6:19b].

The secondary way to glorify God is to declare the righteousness of God in ministry [Colossians 1:27, Ephesians 4:11-15, Romans 1:16-17].

The third way to glorify God is to demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit [Ephesians 2:10, Galatians 5:22-23] in the world, which testifies to the righteousness of God in you [Romans 8:10].
