WHAT DOES ROMANS 8 TO 9 MEAN?
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Romans 8:15-17
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
If you believe the Gospel, you are a ‘son of God’, whether male or female [Romans 8:15-16, Galatians 3:26-28].
A son of God has received an inheritance from their Father God.
Your inheritance is righteousness, salvation and being sanctified [Acts 26:18, 1 Corinthians 1:30].
All sons of God have received the Holy Spirit, to work in them, to bear God’s fruit in them [Romans 8:14].
The Holy Spirit bears witness to your spirit that you are a child of God [Romans 8:16].
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28-30
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
God gave you the destiny to become a son of God [Romans 8:29].
God chose you to become a son of God, before you were born [Romans 8:29].
Consequently, God chose you to be declared righteous (justified) [Romans 8:30].
Since you were justified by faith [Romans 5:1], God chose to give you that faith, so your faith comes from God [Ephesians 2:8-9].
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Romans 8:35-39
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Nothing can separate you from the love God [Romans 8:38-39].
Therefore, you can’t separate yourself from the love of God. Consequently your inheritance as a son of God is secure [Acts 26:18, 1 Corinthians 1:30].
Your righteousness is secure [Romans 5:1].
Your salvation is secure [Ephesians 2:8-9].
For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
Romans 9:15-21
So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Your salvation is to do with God choosing you and having mercy upon you, instead of you doing something to please God [Romans 9:16, 18].
